Canada's Prime Minister Justin Trudeau spoke lon Wednesday, and mentioned that the country will maintain the border closed until the United States gets control of Covid-19 cases.

Last week it was announced that the following states that border with Canada, Alaska, Minnesota, Montana, North Dakota and other 9 in the nation, have presented high cases in the last days. North Dakota has been one of the states that has reported high cases of Covid-19, compared to any other state.

Even though Covid-19 infection rate is far lower than that of the USA, Canada has not been immune from a second wave of cases.

Trudeau has warned Canadian snowbirds to resist the urge to travel south in search of warmer climates, as many will usually travel to through the states and stay in the southern states or cross the bridge border down to México.

He said a travel advisory is as far as the government is willing to go. As states like Florida, Arizona and California that have maintained a limited control of the situation in an attempt to regain turism.

People are free to travel there is no restriction keeping people from leaving the country, but they must understand that they are facing a great risk, not only for them but for their loved ones and other.

Canada will maintain the non-essential travel ban until Prime Minister Trudeau feels that the US has gotten a tighter control on ongoing cases of Covid-19 at the border.
