About Canada...

Canada is a country with a vast geographical area, formed by 10 provinces and 3 territories. Its capital is Ottawa and Toronto is the largest city. The total population of the country is estimated at 29 million inhabitants.

Canada is known worldwide for its crystal clear lakes and its towering mountains, remnants of the Ice Age that covered the land with a mantle of continental ice.

This mantle depressed the earth's crust causing glacial melting, which allowed the formation of many lakes and rivers. The Great Lakes, which form a natural border between Canada and the United States, are also remnants of that era.

It is a historic place, with large tracts of land to enjoy. But there are many things that are really important curious facts like:

  1. English and French are spoken

  2. 10% of the world's forests are there

  3. 4 Canadian cities are on the list of the 10 cities with the best quality of life in the world. Vancouver, Ottawa, Toronto and Montreal.

  4. It is the second country where you breathe clean air, with 16 micrograms of pollutants per cubic meter.

  5. It is also the second largest country in the world, only after Russia.

  6. For every 100 men in each there are 104 women.

  7. There is one teacher for every 12 students.

  8. 3 of the top 100 universities in the world are located in Canada.

  9. The border between Canada and the USA is the longest with 5061 km of land extension and 3830 km of water.

  10. Many parts of the border are divided by an imaginary line that marks the geographical features, such as lakes and mountains.

  11. There is a binational library, because it is built halfway along the border.

  12. You can see the dividing line between the two countries along the forest, as a strip of 6 meters of felled trees, framed the beginning and the end of both countries.

And there are many other curious things about Canada, but nothing better than to explore it and experience it in the flesh.
