Trump's petition to remove birthright citizenship

With news of the caravan heading to the USA, news of Trump’s petition to remove birthright citizenship to those who have been born to illegal immigrant parents.

Trump whose campaign was based to tackle the illegal immigrant situation, has taken a more drastic measures. A couple of days ago Trump made the request to receive and executive order where he could remove citizenship from those born to illegal immigrant parents. But many have different opinions as Trump's wanted executive order goes against the 14th Amendment which addresses citizenship rights and equal protection of the laws. The 14th Amendment was intended to protect the rights of former slaves after the American Civil War, and it establishes that all persons born in the United States are citizens and are guaranteed all the rights of citizenship.

There have been mixed feelings with Trump's recent petition as some see it unconstitutional and un-American. But others have different views as it is seen as a way to tackle the growing births of the so called “Anchor babies” a term used to refer to a child born to a non citizen mother in a country which has birthright citizenship, especially when viewed as providing an advantage to family members seeking to secure citizenship or legal residency.

Trump’s administration has been hard to enforce all power of the law with all the ongoing cases of deportation and illegal border crossing, with the construction of the wall on “the way”, we can't stop expecting news like this. His strong stance against the situation has a long line of followers who are more than willing to support, but the same can be said about those who oppose his ideas and have fought and protested more than once.

Many see this as one of Trump's last fits to find a way to end the ingrowing cases of illegal immigrant coming to USA, many which have been pregnant women coming to have their babies on US soil as a means to stay.

Still not only has his petition been denied, it has also been proven that no executive order could ever remove the birthright citizenship even if the child is born to illegal parents and under the protection of the 14th Amendment cannot be taken away.
