Canada has suffered from high unemployment rates and an economic slowdown in past years, employer would find it hard to fill up spots for job vacancies. Thus, Canada's economy had been suffering for the past 40 years.

But the recent arrival of immigrants in Canada, have upped the performance on the labor market in recent years. It has created an impact on the labor force as well and created big gains for the economy. Even considering the number of immigrants that arrive in Canada every year.

This increase in immigrants is most likely due to in part by the country’s strong job creating run, which has encouraged companies to hire more people who find themselves at the margins of the workforce, immigrants who arrived less than five years ago tend to fall in this category.

Canada has been opening its door to more newcomers than before, according to an internal analysis. And since selection criteria have targeted immigrants with better earning prospects and recent arrivals to Canada are more highly educated. It is mentioned that Canada will be increasing the number of immigrants that it welcomes in the coming years.

Immigrants between the ages of 25 to 54 have that arrived in Canada less than five years ago, had an employment rate 71%, being one of the highest going as back as 2006. And the same can be said to those who have arrived with more than five years.

Companies have mentioned that they are on board with the increase of immigrants as it helps with increasing the labor force and help benefit those companies that are looking to fund social programs for public health.

Government is happy with the results the new workforce of immigrants have brought, and mention that their positive attitude towards immigration is to thank.
