The northern lights are a natural phenomenon, fascinating, that happens due to the explosions of the sun that travel through space, and that when encountering our planet collide creating a magnificent spectacle in the sky. The particles that the sun emits, are released and when encountering our atmosphere rich in nitrogen and oxygen, they collide and produce their own light, originating there the blue red and green color that the sky takes.
This phenomenon happens in several regions of the planet, and Canada is a great option if you want to enjoy the show without flying to the poles of the world.
