Restrictions for Non-essential travel to continue one more month

To the disappointment of many, the closure of the international bridges between the United States and Canada, will continue until the month of September. The announcement comes just as couple of days away before it was announced prior that crossing for non-essential travel would began on August 21.

It had previously been mentioned that the restrictions on non-essential travel would only be until August 21, but seeing that the increase int COVID-19 cases has not stopped, officials have opted for extending the north border closure one more month, until September 21.

The US embassy has just announced the extension on its website as well as mentioning what is considered essential travel and what type of travel will be restricted.

For the moment, all tourist trips will be denied, just as crossings to Canada are now being subjected to sanitary revisions as well, were if necessary self isolation will be required, preventing passage to those who do not comply with the enforced regulations.

We leave you the link to the web page of the United States embassy for more information on essential and non-essential travel. https://mx.usembassy.gov/es/hoja-informativas-restricciones-de-viaje/
