Trump proposes new tarrifs on Mexican goods as means to fix immigration problem

Through his Twitter account, the president of the United States, Donald Trump, informed that he will implement new tariffs for Mexico. All this happens while the countries of Canada, Mexico and the United States are still discussing the new deal for free trade. But this announcement leaves little room for a peaceful settlement. The new tariff facility that will be made in all products imported from Mexico to the United States, will start on June 10 with 5%, in July it will increase to 10% and so on until it reaches a permanent level of 25%. Illegal Crossing Increases in the US-Canada Border

In recent months there have been reports of an increase of illegal crossings in the US-Canada border. In the past years, numbers have shown how there is a significant growth on the crossing of illegal immigrants going from Canada to the US: Illegal Crossings 2016 – 2283 2017 – 3027 2018 – 4816 In 2018 of those 4,816 cases only 22% were apprehended after entering into US soil, only to try and go further south by means of taxi, bus or hitchhiking. New changes to Mexico US Border

A few days away from Easter and one of the highest crossing seasons for cities such as El Paso, are stopped by the recent changes made in several checkpoints, where since Saturday morning appeared to be closed because of the transfer of agents to handle the increase of Central American immigrants seeking asylum.
